As a behaviorist, I believe that the environments in which we develop across our lifespans ultimately play the most significant role in our actions, decisions, and outcomes. We cannot progress without first understanding how society and upbringing crafted us, our mentalities, and states of being. Life is a journey with many twists, and the path to self-determination is long and complex. Without the proper space for growth, healing, and self-development, one may face difficulties in achieving self-realization and self-actualization. Human-beings are social creatures – genetically designed, behaviorally conditioned, and evolutionarily driven. We possess certain intrinsic, natural needs and adaptations that have developed over millions of years. If these dualistically basic and complex needs remain unfulfilled, we will struggle to attain this self-actualization. Therefore, I continually strive to establish a warm, comforting, validating, empathic, and safe space for growth and healing, where potential can be realized, deep connections and insights can be discovered, and needs can be met. My approach to therapy is strengths-based and individualized, eclectically combining various elements of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, guided imagery, diaphragmatic breathing techniques, humanism, evolutionary theory, and exposure therapy as needed.
